Skeena Sawmills shuts operations at Terrace, BC sawmill due to unfavorable market

Skeena Sawmills Ltd. closed its Terrace, British Columbia, sawmill for an uncertain time due to high operating costs, lack of a secure fiber supply, and weak markets; the shutdown began on February 8, 2023, and impacted 150 employees.
The closure will also contain the next-door pellet plant subsidiary, Skeena Bioenergy, which processed remains from the Terrace mill operation.
