Sumitomo Forestry America declared a $19.5 million expansion plan in Archdale, NC

The Sumitomo Forestry America prepares to spend $19.5 million on a new 120,000-square-foot building in Archdale, NC, which will produce building materials used in residential and commercial projects, such as floor and roof trusses and wall panels.

Sumitomo Forestry America is a subsidiary of Sumitomo Forestry Co., a logging company established in 1691, based in Tokyo, Japan.

It is headquartered in Addison, Texas, and is a complete housing and wood products company that manufactures trades, and sells timber, lumber, pulpwood, wood chips, and building materials.

Charlotte-based Crescent Communities, a subsidiary of Sumitomo Forestry America, will build the Archdale facility, with construction expected to begin in January 2023 and be finished by January 2024.
