Sweden's biggest producer, Vida Skog raised log prices

Posted on June 9, 2023   |

Vida Skog increased the log prices despite a more challenging market for lumber products, its operation is robust due to organized sawmills and a global sales medium.

From 1 June, prices for the standard spruce and pine lumber will grow by $12.8 per m³ of wood and the prices for logs by $6.4 per m³fub.

High-interest rates negatively affected construction, and housing construction in Sweden will fall by 50% in 2023 compared to 2022.

Vida Group employs 1,500 people in 23 production plants, including 12 sawmills, focusing on structural timber for many global markets.

75% of Vida’s sawn timber products are exported to Europe, Australia, the USA, Asia, and Africa.
