Timber trade in Finland fell by 11% in 2022

In January-December, the volume of timber trade fell by 11% compared to the same period last year and by 2% compared to the average value of the previous 5 years but the trade in logs grew by 1%, while the trade in pulpwood decreased by 5%.

In December, the volume of timber trade was at the level of the previous year but fell by 5% compared to the average of the previous five years.

In the same period, the volume of Roundwood trade remained stable and In permanent sales, average softwood log prices grew by 1% compared to November.
