US Lumber Coalition supports the continued enforcement of the commerce department's trade laws
Posted on February 16, 2022 |
- U.S. Department of Commerce announced the initial decision of a merged anti-subsidy and anti-dumping duty rate of 11.64% in the third annual review of alleged, unfairly sold Canadian softwood lumber imports into the United States.
- The annual reviews are part of the trade law enforcement process to address the potential dumping and subsidization of Canadian imports for a certain period, and the U.S. LumberCoalition fully supports this annual process.
- The U.S. Lumber Coalition is an association of large and small softwood lumber producers from around the country, united by their employees, and woodland owners, working to handle Canada’s alleged (but unproven) unfair lumber trade practices.
- The enforcement will maximize long-term domestic production and lumber availability to fulfill strong demand to build more American homes.
