U.S. increased wooden furniture imports by 10% in H1 2022

  • From January-June, total US wooden furniture imports grew by 10% and in the same period, China increased its supply by 4%, Vietnam increased by 1%, Canada increased by 18%, Malaysia grew by 1%, Mexico by 41%, Indonesia by 30% and India by 35%.
  • Following a record high in May, U.S. wood furniture imports dropped by 7% in June but the value of shipments grew by 5% to $2.33 billion from June 2021.
  • In June 2022, imports plunged from all of the country's major trading partners, India, Malaysia, and Vietnam.
