U.S. launches seventh review of duties on Canadian softwood lumber

Posted on February 25, 2025   |

On February 21, the U.S. Department of Commerce began its seventh review of duties on certain Canadian softwood lumber imports.

These yearly reviews (unless resolved) adjust duty rates for shipments made between January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2024, while setting new deposit rates for future imports.

A company undergoes review only if an interested party requests it through the Commerce Department.

The review assesses whether duty modifications are necessary based on trade and pricing trends.

The Commerce Department plans to publish the final results by January 31, 2026.
