US lumber prices fell by 20% as lumber demand mutes in March

Posted on March 31, 2023   |

In the week ending March 17, the price of standard softwood lumber fell by 20% to $364 mfbm compared to the previous month when it was $456.

The freezing temperatures constantly hindered timber harvesting and log transportation.

As a result, the southern U.S. states increased construction activity but demand for lumber products remained damped.
