US lumber prices grew slightly by 8% due to increased construction activity in October

- In October, in many of the highly populated areas of America, construction activity saw an increase in demand for dimension lumber and other solid wood building materials, which elevated lumber prices.
- Reversing a few weeks of drops, in the week ending October 21, the price of benchmark softwood lumber item Western Spruce-Pine-Fir grew by 8% to $480 mfbm but is down by 8% from one month ago.
