Posted on August 26, 2024 |
Demand for spruce, pine, and fir increased, with commodity prices stabilizing or rising.
Panel sales remained weak, though plywood prices saw a small uptick.
Western spruce, pine, and fir prices rose by 6% to $374 per thousand board feet (mfbm) in the week ending August 9.
This price is up 10% from $339 mfbm a month ago.
However, the price is still 9% lower than the same week last year ($410 mfbm) and 39% lower than two years ago ($610 mfbm).
