US to maintain duties on Canadian softwood lumber imports

Posted on December 11, 2023   |

The US International Trade Commission (USITC) has chosen to uphold antidumping and countervailing duty orders on specific softwood lumber products from Canada.

This decision is rooted in the expectation that removing these duties could result in ongoing or recurring harm within a reasonable timeframe.

This course of action is part of a required 5-year review process outlined by the Uruguay Round Agreements Act.

It directs the Department of Commerce to either lift antidumping or countervailing duty orders or terminate a suspension agreement.
