USDA and the National Alliance of Forest Owners signed MoUs to improve cooperation during wildfires
Posted on April 3, 2023 |
The US Department of Agriculture’s Forest Service and the National Alliance of Forest Owners (NAFO) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to enhance the partnership between private forest owners and public land managers in wildfires.
The intensive fire harshly impacted local communities, the environment, local and regional economies, and public health.
It can damage resources on private working forestlands, which are a source of carbon sequestration and timber harvested for products in the US.
