VIDA AB, with a 70% ownership stake from Canfor Corporation, plans to invest around 700 million SEK (CAD 85 million) in upgrading its Bruza Sawmill in Hjältevad, Sweden.

The upgrade aims to increase production from 175 million to 240 million board feet, enhancing overall operational capacity.

The substantial investment includes the introduction of a modern planning mill, a new boiler, wood drying kilns, and a warehouse.

Construction for the planning mill, designed for efficient lumber processing across Vida's markets, is set to start in spring 2024, with full production anticipated by 2026.
