Vietnam's timber and wood exports hit $9.5 billion by mid-August

From January to August 15, Vietnamese timber and wood product exports rose by 24% to $9.5 billion compared to the same period last year.

Wood products alone generated $6.5 billion, making up 68% of the total exports and increasing by 23% year-over-year.

The United States was the top market, with exports climbing 25.9% to $4.88 billion.

China followed with $1.2 billion in exports, up 39%, while Japan's exports grew 1.4% to $961 million, and South Korea’s rose 2.1% to $452 million.

Exports to Canada reached $133 million, a 25% increase, and to the UK, $124 million, up 17.8%.

Exports to Malaysia were $90.7 million, up 12.8%, and to Australia, India, and France were $86 million, $84.4 million, and $63.7 million, marking increases of 14.6%, 65.8%, and 12.9%, respectively.
