2 box ships crashed while voyaging in the Long Tau river of South Vietnam

On 11 February, the 2,038 TEU, WAN HAI 288 Singaporean vessel, and the 920 TEU, RESURGENCE Bahamian vessel crashed in the Long Tau river in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), southern Vietnam.
The RESURGENCE crashed into the port bow of the WAN HAI 288, damaging both vessels, including several boxes from the WAN HAI 288 vessel being destroyed.
The WAN HAI 288 was voyaging to a port in HCMC while carrying 1,383 containers, before colliding with the RESURGENCE which came coming from the opposite direction carrying over 600 containers.
There were several damaged containers but no casualties, nor was there any oil spillage following the incident.
