AD Ports inked a 30-year agreement to build an Egyptian port in Safaga

Abu Dhabi group will build and manage the multi-function terminal at Safaga Port on the Red Sea shore of Egypt.

It will be the 1st internationally operated port in the Upper Egypt region, which will help traders, industries, and businesses save costs in this region.

The terminal will be built over an area of ​​810,000 sq m and will be operational in Q2 2025. 

It will consist of a dock wall of 1,000 meters with a 5m tonnes capacity for general load and dry bulk, 1m tonnes of liquid bulk, 450,000 TEU containerized shipment, and 50,000 CEUs RoRo. 

Moreover, the Abu Dhabi Group inked two 15-year deals, an MoU, and 3 Head of Terms (HoTs), which involves ports of Egypt’s Red Sea area and the Mediterranean Sea, boosting a major expansion of the group’s activities into Egypt.
