CMA CGM implements a $200 surcharge for heavy cargo from Asia to North Europe

CMA CGM has introduced an Overweight Surcharge (OWS) for shipments from Asia to North Europe, starting 15 September and ongoing until further notice.

The surcharge applies to shipments from North East Asia, South East Asia, China, Hong Kong, and Macau to North Europe, Scandinavia, Poland, and the Baltic region.

It specifically affects 20-foot containers carrying dry cargo weighing 20 tons or more.

The surcharge is set at $200 per container.
