CMA CGM imposes new tax on goods headed to Algeria from Northern Europe

Posted on September 16, 2024   |

CMA CGM has started charging a tax on goods going from Northern Europe to Algeria.

This move is due to heavy congestion at Algerian ports.

The tax is called the Port Congestion Surcharge (PCS).

The fee is €150 for each 20-foot container.

This surcharge applies to all cargo affected by the congestion.
