CMA CGM rolls out an overweight surcharge on Middle East Gulf to Europe shipments

Posted on July 1, 2024   |

CMA CGM will implement an overweight surcharge (OWS) from July 6, 2024, until further notice.

This surcharge applies to shipments from the Middle East Gulf to North Europe, Scandinavia & Poland, West Mediterranean, East Mediterranean, Adriatic, Baltic, North Africa, and Morocco.

Shippers will face a $200 surcharge per 20-foot dry container weighing 15 tons or more.

CMA CGM informed its customers about these changes to handle the increased costs associated with heavier cargo.
