The Egyptian Cabinet approved a draft decree for a maritime transport and ports agreement with Oman, aiming to improve economic ties, regulate maritime activities, and support multimodal transport.
The agreement will focus on sharing expertise, information, and collaboration in port management, ship operations, and maintenance.
The Cabinet approved adding three new academic programs to the University of Central Lancashire’s branch in Egypt through a change to Presidential Decree No. 86 of 2021.
The Cabinet also approved adding a Physical Therapy program to Coventry University’s branch at “The Knowledge Hub Universities” in Egypt through a change to Presidential Decree No. 423 of 2019.
The Cabinet revised the executive regulations of the Water Resources and Irrigation Law, allowing higher land occupancy along the Nile for tourist facilities and recreational sites.
The new rules allow up to 40% land occupancy for tourism, plus an extra 10% for marinas connected to main activities, boosting Nile tourism.
The changes to Article 11 require a license from the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation to build tourist or recreational facilities along the Nile.
