Egypt to extend the validity of ACID document for 6 months

Posted on February 3, 2023

The Egyptian customs authorities decided to extend the validity of the ACID (Advanced Cargo Information Declaration) document for 6 months from the date of registration.

As per the Council of Ministers and the Finance Minister, the exception to extend the validity of ACID from the date of registration has been removed.

The decision was based on several issues of Egyptian importers and their agents, such as the validity of ACID having expired due to delays in the production or shipment of goods or the release of documents by banks.

After the validity of ACID gets expired, the 19-digit number is displayed in NAFEZA (National Single Window For Foreign Trade) and the letter (O) is shown next to it as an abbreviation for OLD.

In such instances, the Egyptian importers apply for an extension of the validity of the ACID number to the central administration of the relevant customs office.
