Posted on February 17, 2023 |
The Finnish Transport Workers’ Union, Auto-ja Kjetusala Työntekijäliitto (AKT) began its strike, affecting all Finnish ports and terminals.
The strike began on 15 February at 6.00 am local time which suspended all vessel operations, gate moves, and handling of containers within terminals in Finland’s ports.
The negotiations and discussions concerning a new collective bargaining agreement between the union and employer organizations failed.
The union denied the settlement proposals that European Labour Authority mediator, Leo Suomaa, presented to them, and the negotiating parties will recommence the negotiations by 17 February.
