FMC initiates public hearing to address Red Sea Shipping conditions

Posted on January 22, 2024   |

The Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) has arranged an informal public hearing to investigate the impacts of the events in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden on global supply networks and commercial shipping.

Set for February 7, 2024, the hearing provides a chance for supply chain stakeholders to share their experiences with the Commission.

FMC emphasizes that the hearing is a way to gather information and identify new issues related to these disruptions.

This includes considering measures like implementing contingency fees and surcharges and following Commission statutes.
