Schedule reliability in 2023 remained relatively stable, but May marked an improvement. In comparison to the previous year, it showed a substantial 17% increase.

Late vessel arrivals experienced a slight increase in delays for August, up by just 0.07 days to reach 4.67 days.

However, it's worth noting that this figure is still 1.23 days less than the same period last year.

Among the top 14 shipping companies in August 2023, MSC stood out as the most dependable, achieving a solid 70.9% reliability score.

Maersk and Hamburg Süd closely followed with a reliability rate of 70%. CMA CGM was the only carrier in the 60-70% range, while eight others fell between 50-60%.

HMM and Yang Ming were found to be the least reliable.

In August 2023, only 3 of the top 14 carriers witnessed month-over-month improvements, with OOCL leading the way with a significant 2.8% point increase.

On an annual basis, all 14 carriers displayed double-digit improvements, with MSC demonstrating the most substantial improvement at 26.8% points.

These trends reflect a consistent year-over-year enhancement in schedule reliability across the top 14 carriers, while there are variations in their performance every month.
