ICE issues warning on port delays due to Qube strikes

International Cargo Express (ICE) warned of port backlogs in Australia due to strikes at Qube terminals.

The union campaign against Qube lasted several months and affected ports in Brisbane, Kembla, Melbourne, Adelaide, Darwin, and Fremantle.

The Maritime Union of Australia (MUA) ended the industrial action this week, marking progress.

Despite the strike's end, delays in loading, unloading, and transport have caused major backlogs.

The backlogs are expected to affect supply chains in the short term.

More than a dozen car-carrying vessels, with over 36,000 vehicles, were stuck offshore early this week due to the strike.

The ongoing stand-off between the union and Qube delayed the processing of goods at key Australian ports.
