MAWANI port's TEU levels saw an increase of 17.57% in Q1 2023

In Q1 2023, MAWANI saw an increase of 17.57% in container handling at its trade hubs, reaching a throughput of 2,011,162 TEU compared to last year.
Imported containers performed better with an annual increase of 22.43% to 637,277 TEU.
Meanwhile, transshipments acquired a 14.96% boost in volumes last quarter, growing from 676,826 TEU to 778,056 TEU.
In Q1 2023, cargo volumes also rose by 4.11% to 75,552,598 tonnes in contrast to 72,570,201 tonnes in 2021.
The first 3 months registered a total of 12,503,063 tonnes of dry bulk cargo, 1,597,014 tonnes of general cargo, and 39,822,296 tonnes of liquid bulk cargo going via MAWANI’s ports.
Inbound vessels saw an increase of 11.48% compared to last year’s numbers with 2,855 ships entering Saudi waters.
