MSC implements peak season surcharge amid high demand on North Europe to US routes

From 1 September 2024, MSC will introduce a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) for shipments to the US, Puerto Rico, and the Bahamas.

The PSS rates for these locations are set at USD 800 for 20DV containers, USD 1000 for 40DV-HC containers, and USD 1500 for reefer containers.

For shipments to Canada, the PSS rates are identical: USD 800 for 20DV, USD 1000 for 40DV-HC, and USD 1500 for reefer containers.

For shipments to Mexico, the PSS will be USD 700 for 20DV containers, USD 800 for 40DV-HC containers, and USD 1000 for reefer containers.

These surcharge rates will stay in effect until further notice.

The PSS applies to all specified ports of destination (PODs) starting 1 September 2024.
