Oman to transform Suwaiq Port into a global trade center

Posted on November 26, 2024   |

Oman’s Ministry of Transport and Asyad Group signed a 40-year agreement to develop, manage, and run Suwaiq Port.

The plan aims to turn Suwaiq Port into a global trade hub, boosting Oman’s port efficiency and trade capacity.

A new 500-meter-long, 14-meter-deep berth will be built to handle bulk, liquid, dry goods, and vehicles.

The port will get advanced cargo systems and more storage space to handle increasing demand effectively.

Suwaiq Port will expand to over 360,000 square meters to strengthen regional trade and support the local economy, including food security.

This project will attract international shipping, connect Oman to global markets, and support its economic growth.
