Panama Canal to reduce water charges from October onward

Posted on October 3, 2023   |

In October, the Panama Canal Authority will reduce its water conservation surcharge.

The canal introduced limits on vessel traffic and draft to conserve water due to a prolonged drought.

The water surcharge, initiated in 2020, will be reduced by approximately 50%.

This adjustment will benefit the canal's customers and maintain competitiveness.
