Posted on November 26, 2024 |
Dockworkers at the Port of Montreal will begin mediation with employers after a six-day strike.
The union, representing 1,200 workers, agreed to 90 days of mediation, followed by binding arbitration.
The Canada Industrial Relations Board ordered the port to resume operations and proceed with arbitration.
This strike is part of ongoing labor disputes affecting Canada’s transport sector.
Other recent disruptions include conflicts at Canada’s two largest railways, B.C. ports, and the St. Lawrence River.
