Shippers, Union reached a deal, ending a 13-day strike at Western Canada

(BCMEA) British Columbia Maritime Employers Association and the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) agreed on a new indefinite 4-year deal.

Since July 1st, 49 waterfront employers and 7,400 members of the union began the strike and shut down over 30 west coast ports.

The strike disrupted $7.4 billion worth of trade as every year, The Port of Vancouver handles $342 billion worth of goods and contributes $9.6 billion to the nation's annual output.
