ZIM renews partnership with MSC on transpacific routes

Posted on September 16, 2024   |

ZIM has renewed its 3-year partnership with MSC for voyages from Asia to the US East and Gulf coasts.

The agreement includes slot swaps and vessel sharing on six services between ZIM and MSC.

From February, THE Alliance will become the Premier Alliance with Ocean Network Express (ONE), HMM, and Yang Ming Marine Transportation, while MSC will assist with Asia-Europe routes.

MSC will end its vessel sharing with Maersk at the end of January and operate more independently, with Hapag-Lloyd leaving THE Alliance to join Maersk in the new Gemini Cooperation.

The Ocean Alliance, including CMA CGM, COSCO, Evergreen, and OOCL, will maintain its vessel-sharing agreement until March 2032.

These shifts reflect changes in major shipping alliances and partnerships.
